Robert Graves (1895-1985), the British poet and novelist known for writing Goodbye to All That, I Claudius and The White Goddess and over one thousand poems was also a prolific letter writer. It is estimated that there could be as many as 10,000 extant letters held at universities, libraries and private collections worldwide.
